Real Madrid are said to be interested in two players from the English Premier League according to reports from Spain. It is understood that the Spanish club has begun talks with the representatives of Manchester United ace Paul Pogba and Denmark star Christian Eriksen.

It is understood that President Florentino Perez wants to make a statement midfield signing and both players are high on the list. It is no secret that the club coverts French midfield Pogba with manager Zidane keen on the player.

The French legend recently visited Pogba in Dubai which sparked reports that a transfer could be on the way for the player. Pogba is well-liked by a number of players in the dressing room including influential captain Sergio Ramos.

Christian Eriksen meanwhile is said to be in talks with the club ahead of a possible free transfer move in the summer. Eriksen represents a cheaper option for Real Madrid because he would cost no transfer fee.

However, the Denmark midfielder does not have the fame or star power of Pogba. Perez has not changed from his ideology of signing Galacticos and views Pogba as one.

Manchester United are confident of keeping the enigmatic midfielder and are prepared to offer the Frenchman a new deal for him to remain at the club. There are indications that Eriksen seems like a feasible option for the club.

However, some of the board members prefer the signing of Pogba as it shows that the club still possesses the spending power in Europe. Both players possess quality and would represent a good buy for the club.

However, at this moment, it is very difficult to predict whether these transfers would occur in January. The most likely situation is that Madrid will sign the players in the summer ahead of next season.
