Martin Odegaard will be staying at Real Sociedad rather than moving to Real Madrid says the club president Jokin Aperribay. He was given in loan to the club for one year deal but he is expected to stay for another season. Even though there are speculations that he might return to Real Madrid, Aperribay expects him to stay at Sociedad.
Odegaard has contributed a lot to the club and has scored seven goals and eight assists by appearing in 28 games for the club before the suspension of football activity. He alongside the club helped them reach the final of Copa del Rey where they will be facing their rivals Athletic Club. But when the final will take place is uncertain with the COVID 19 pandemic still in the air.
Former player of Sociedad Roberto Lopez is sure that Odegaard has the ability to secure a spot at Real Madrid’s regular team. He says that the players came here to show his potential to everyone and to make sure that this will win him a chance to Real Madrid.
Odegaard can play exceptionally in midfield and he has got the skills too. He knows what to do at the exact moment and when to pass the ball with his exquisite technique. But what makes him special is the recoveries from the pressure in the field. As he is the first target of the central defender and he has the ability to overcome this and play with the ball.
Lopez also said that sometimes he takes control over the ball for a long time rather than passing it on. But he is a player with talent and knows what is best for him as well as for his team. The Norwegian youngster has been unable to make a major impact immediately upon his arrival.
